The shadows are lengthening（n.延长，加长） for me. The twilightis here. My days of old have vanished, tone and tint. They have gone glimmering(微弱地发光的） through the dreams of things that were. Their memory is one of wondrous beauty,watered by tears, and coaxed and caressed by the smiles of yesterday. In my dreams I hear again thecrash of guns, the rattle（vt.急促的 ） of musketry（n.火枪）, the strange, mournful(adj.悲恸的) mutter(v. 咕哝, 抱怨) of the battlefield(n.战场).
