Provisions and Regulations Concerning Student Status
Attendance
Students are expected to abide by class rules: Regular attendance is required. Students are not permitted to miss class, not to be late for class and not to leave class before it is over. Proper procedures are needed for sick leaves (Ask for leave and hand in the doctor's medical certificate to you teacher). Missing class for reasons other than sickness is regarded as absence. Those who often miss class will face the following penalty according to the exact periods of class missed: Being struck off the right to take examinations, staying down, or losing student status. Examination Rules
Students must present themselves punctually for University examinations usually held two times in one semester in accordance with instructions given to them.
Students are required to abide by the specific rules on examinations. Failure to attend an examination without reasonable cause may result in the award of no marks for that examination.
A student may not have a degree or other academic qualification conferred unless he attends all examinations required and gets qualified marks.
Awarding and Penalties
Some students will get awarding for good behavior and diligent study. The selection conditions are the students whose scores of HSK are 7 level will be granted RMB 400,8 level to RMB 500.
Students who participate in contest for foreign students sponsored at various levels may get the corresponding awards from School of International Education.
1-2 foreign students will be selected from each class and awarded for their excellent academic and personal conduct. The conditions are as followed: abide by the Chinese law and other local regulations as well as university’s regulations. Good behavior and respect of tutors and good relations with other students. Diligent study and high academic scores. Actively attend activities. The students will get certificate and awards.
Students are subject to disciplinary measures if they breach the University’s disciplinary regulations.
If a student is found guilty of an allegation of misconduct, he may be subject to disciplinary measures or may be encountered with suspension or expulsion from the University.
Certificates and Credentials
Students who have completed the required courses and gain a "pass" or above will be awarded an appropriate "Certificate of Study"
Students of Two-year Diploma Chinese Language Programme who have completed the required courses and gain a "Pass" or above will be awarded a Diploma.
Students of Short-term or Long-term Chinese Language programmes will be awarded a certificate for his course of study upon finishing and passing all the courses.
