Sleep tight源于美国版的“宝贝，晚安。”即：Sleep tight and don’t let the bedbugs bite. （睡得好觉，别让臭虫咬。）在19世纪，美国孩子临睡前最喜欢听父母这样对他们说。其中的tight相当于soundly，well。Sleep tight的意思是“睡得很甜，很香”。
