How Do Good People Become Evil?

The Holocaust（n.大屠杀） is the embodiment（n.体现）of evil in modern times. Adolf Hitler the architect of that genocide（n.种族屠杀）. Abused by his father. A vagrant（n.流浪者） at 19. As the only surviving male child, he was adored by his mother. He felt he was special, but became resentful when his mother died leaving him homeless and penniless. A damaged personality, but not yet "evil".

He fought bravely as a twice-decorated （v.授勋） soldier on the Western Front during World War 1. Yet left the army filled with a rage against those he blamed for the humiliation of Germany. Fighting in the trenches（n.战壕）certainly deeply affected any soldier who experienced this hell. Hitler's already damaged mind was pushed over the edge. His resulting Messianic Complex and hatred of the Jews documented in his autobiography "Mein Kampf" for all to see.

Hitler's evil manifested（v.显现） itself after his personality and circumstances collided(v.冲撞) so explosively. If there had been no World War, Hitler would have remained an underachiever（n.学习落后的学生）, left in obscurity（n.模糊） in Austria. His "evil" hidden from the world.

      当代的罪恶主要体现在惨绝人寰的大屠杀上。阿道夫希特勒，大屠杀的始作俑者。少年时遭受父亲虐待，19岁在外流浪。作为家中唯一的男丁，他受到母亲的宠爱。他觉得他很特别，但当他的母亲去世，留下他一个人身无分文，无家可归时，他心生怨恨，人格被扭曲，但还算不上是邪恶。

      一战时他因在西方战线作战英勇而两度授勋。当他离开部队时，他对那些使德国蒙羞的人充满了愤怒。战场上的厮杀深深的影响着这些士兵，他们都曾亲身体验过这种地狱般的经历。希特勒已经将他那扭曲的心态推向了深渊的边缘。他造成的救世主情结和仇恨犹太人的记录在他的自传“我的奋斗”都可以看到。

      当希特勒的个性与他所处的环境剧烈的碰撞在一起后，他的邪恶原原本本的显露了出来。如果没有世界大战，希特勒将仍旧一无是处，默默无闻的呆在奥地利。他的邪恶也不会暴露。
