Syrian opposition activists say government forces intensified their shelling of neighborhoods in rebel-held Homs, killing at least 11 people, one day after U.N. observers suspended their work. Activists released new amateur video today of what appeared to be heavy shelling in the central city. U.N. observers are now on their way to Hama, one day after the head of the U.N. observer mission in Syria told journalists that he was suspending operations and that observers would stay put and stop conducting patrols until further notice.
