这里用where作关系副词引起定语从句是对的，如果用which的话，应该加上介词in:
This is the mountain village where I stayed last year.
This is the mountain village in which I stayed last year. 或This is the mountain village which I stayed in last year.

我是在实用英语语法速查2.0中的18.3中内容看到（http://www.blog.edu.cn/user1/18983/archives/2005/248924.shtml）中可以下到。我当时感觉就有点不对，那一节是判断关系代词与关系副词的。
我知道用WHICH时有时要加介词，可以放在从句前也可以在后面，固定词组不能改变介词位置。
但这个节中的两个CASE
写到用关系代词还是关系副词完全取决从中句的谓语动词。
及物动词后无宾语就用关系代词，而不及物动词用关系副词。
例题
（错）This is the moutain village where  I stayed last year .
(错） I will never forget the days when  I  spent  in the coutryside.
(对） This the moutain   village  which I stayed last year.
(对）I wil never forget the days  which i spent in the countryside.
好像 where= in which
         when =  on which.
是不是软件中内容出错了，还是我定语从句没有掌握。
