my remembering words experience English

I am a college student. I have found that after I entered the university my words vocabulary wasn't as wide as before . I am lazy now. when I am reading English articles , I find it's hard to catch the writer's thought. Words are important. It's the base of your English learning. The most important thing for you to remember English words is perseverance. you must keep on and never give up.Now I am keeping on a good habit , I get up very early every morning to remember some words and some sentences. I think it does help me a  lot.
