British automaker Land Rover is being accused of putting faulty gearboxes in its Evoque cars in China.

Claims are being made that Evoque cars throughout the country have been encountering malfunctions, including sudden stops while driving and faulty reverse gears.

Land Rover in China is denying the allegations.

No recall of Evoque cars has been issued.

The allegations against the company have been levelled on China Central Television's annual Consumer Rights expose.

The television station airs a program every March 15th, Consumer Rights Day, which attempts to out companies for selling defective or substandard products to Chinese consumers.
