This past couple of weeks, I have been re-reading one of my favorite books, "Living, Loving & Learning" by Leo F. Buscaglia, Ph.D., which is a collection of his lectures he delivered between 1970 and 1981.
Although he is no longer physically with us, the messages are timeless and can be summed up in this quote:
"An investment in life is an investment in change.... When you are changing all the time, you've got to continue to keep adjusting to change, which means you are going to be constantly facing new obstacles. That's the joy of living. And once you are involved in the process of becoming, there is no stopping. You're doomed! You're gone! But what a fantastic journey."
I think if we all lived our life in wonderment and embraced change as a friend, learning all the while to be more loving, that the world we encounter daily would be viewed a different way.
I challenge you today to be the best you can be, to be more loving with everyone you meet; to open your arms and welcome change, to be curious, to learn more about yourself and those you love.
Let it be said at the end of your day that you gave it your best and tomorrow will be another opportunity to improve. Let it be said that you improved from yesterday and that you are determined to become the person you always wanted to be. The time is now; don't wait.
Be the loving, caring person you know you are and don't be afraid to show the world your tender side. We could all use a little more of that!
