"Tears in heaven"是Eric Clapton(埃里克·克莱普顿)献给他死去的儿子的。1991年，Clapton 4岁的儿子由于保姆的不慎意外坠楼身亡，这个打击几乎让他一蹶不振。《泪洒天堂 》旋律凄美流畅，催人泪下，克拉普顿混杂着沙哑喉音的吟唱情真意切，歌声苍凉悲壮却又柔情似水，能够净化人的灵魂，淋漓尽致地表达出了一个饱经沧桑的男子在命运和时间面前的无助。
将一个父亲对孩子深深的爱和失去爱子后深切的悲痛寄于歌中，向在天堂里的孩子送去一个父亲无限的思念……克莱普顿凭借这首歌一举夺得第35届格莱美奖的6项大奖。
