A listener from Venezuela sent us a question about the meaning of the expression mayday. He wrote that he often hears this expression in movies. Mayday is an emergency code word. It is used around the world in voice communications.委内瑞拉的一个听众给我们发来邮件询问“mayday”这个单词的意思,他说他经常在电影里面听到这个词。“Mayday”是紧急情况信号词。它被用于全球范围内的语音通讯。
