Make the bed

Host: If you stay overnight, you'll have to make your own bed.

Guest: That's okay with me.

Host: Here's a hammer (铁锤) and a saw (锯).


主人：如果你在这过夜，你需要“make your own bed”.
客人：这个没问题！
主人：那好吧，这是铁锤和锯，你自己做一个床睡吧。
  
点评：“make the bed”的本意是“整理床铺，铺床”，主人巧妙运用此点让客人误解为主人想留人在此过夜，没想到的是客人是个一根筋。

   Actually  the host doesn't want the guest to stay overnight.
   I think that the host couches his refusal in  polite terms,but the guest didn't get his true meaning,so he couches his refusal in brusque terms.
