mid-day crisis 午间危机

Mid-day crisis refers to the situation when one is in a desperate need for a siesta because they become extremely tired in the afternoon and coffee isn't cutting it any longer, or when it's the middle of the day, and you realize you have a lot to do and not enough time to do it. As a result, your mind locks up and you can't work, you just sit and pity yourself.
午间危机指下午特别疲惫急需午睡来恢复精神的情况,这个时候咖啡什么的已经不管用了。另外,午间危机也可以指到了中午才意识到还有很多工作要做,而剩下的时间已经不够用的情况。在这种情况下,人的大脑就会自动锁定,无法继续工作,只能坐在那里顾影自怜。

For example:

Perhaps casual chatting with colleagues in the pantry over a cup of tea for a good fifteen minutes will soothe the mid-day crisis symptoms.
到餐室喝杯茶,跟同事闲聊个15分钟可能会缓解午间危机的症状。

cyber hoarding 网络囤积

Cyber hoarding means an individual has an excessive amount of pointless word documents, pictures, etc. saved on his/her computer that he/she will never look at.
网络囤积指一个人在自己电脑上存了大量毫无价值的文档和图片等文件,而他根本都不会去看一眼。

For example:

Cyber hoarding is Katie's flaw because she has more than 2000 photos on her computer of random stuff like jellyfish and city landscapes.
网络囤积是凯蒂的一个毛病。她电脑上存了2000多张杂七杂八有关海蜇还有城市风景的照片。

TV stoned 在电视机前“石化”

The phrase "TV stoned" is used to describe a person who is completely deaf and blind to everything but his favorite show on television.
“TV stoned”这个短语常用来形容某人完全专注于他喜欢的电视节目,对周围的一切视若无睹的状态。也就是我们常说的“某人钻到电视里去了”这个意思。

He or she is unlikely to answer the phone, speak to anyone and do anything except sit and watch.
他/她不接电话、不跟任何人讲话、也不做任何事,只是坐在那里盯着电视看。

He or she is also likely to be irritated or react badly if one tries to talk to him during that hour or in duration of his favorite TV shows that run in a row.
如果有人在电视节目进行过程中试图跟他们说话,他/她有可能会发怒或者做出什么过激行为。

For example:

Sorry, I can't get Bill to come to the phone. He's TV stoned at the moment. Call back after the show is over.
抱歉,我没法叫比尔来接电话。他这会儿钻到电视里去了。等节目结束你再打过来吧。

bucket list 人生目标清单

Bucket list refers to a list of activities and achievements that a person hopes to accomplish in his or her lifetime. This phrase comes from the idiom to kick the bucket, meaning "to die," which has been in the language since at least 1785.
Bucket list(暂译为“人生目标清单”)指一个人在有生之年想要做的事情和想要取得的成就的清单。这个短语源自于英文俗语"to kick the bucket",意即“去世(翘辫子)”,这个表达早在1785年就已经在使用了。

For example:

I need to remember to add skydiving to my bucket list.
我要记得把跳伞列入我的人生目标清单。
