I Choose Group three:mountain tree flower photo sky.
My inspiration for this poem comes from one sentence – “Enjoy the poem, this is my summer love.” I literally use all letter as the beginning of each verse (total has 30 verses). For example, in the first stanza of the poem, I used the word “Enjoy,” so it has five verses. I also decided to use a few old English word such as “thy” and “thou” or “thee,” just to make the poem sound more like poetry. And for the same purpose, I make the last vocabulary of individual verses to rhyme with each other.
As for the content of the poem, please allow me to explain my thoughts a bit
In the first stanza –“ENJOY”
I personified summer as a fair lady, and express my love for her. I love hiking in the woods during summer, because of the fresh air and the green forest, it is one of my joyous moments that I would never forget.
This idea leads me to the second and third stanza – “The poem”
I’ve always love the woods ever since I was a child. I would linger in the woods for hours looking for bird’s nests or cicada, especially during the summer. It is like a magical land that fills with surprising creatures. I would never get bored at it.
Then in the fourth stanza – “this”
my thoughts jumps to the summer at night. It reminds me of my front yard garden, where I planted a few Epiphyllum oxypetalums (昙花). They tend to bloom at night; I always sit and watch them quietly, while enjoying the cool breeze from the dark. I am obsessed with its beauty, and refer to it as the “empress of the summer night”.
In the fifth stanza – “Is my”
I restate my love for summer again. The verses are getting intensified and more emotional, setting the path for the next stanza – “Summer.”
In the stanza – “Summer”
I speak the promise of not to forget the feeling of love, the wildness of chasing what I love, and be true to my own desire.
As the concluding stanza – “Love”
i describe those memories will stay in my heart forever, just like they have been engraved on stones. Every year, summer will come again, and I will treasure each one of them dearly.
Summer Love
by D.
Embrace thy soul with the summer air
Narrate thy love for the Lady’s fair
Joys of kissing her green silky hair
overcomes time as an eternal affair
Yes, thou shall forget not her enchanted flair
Trees are her gardens in the Northern forest
Hides mythical creatures unlike the rest
Every breath inhale thee becomes romance of arrest
Panic thou shall not, for her nature of subtlety
Open the eyes to her magical beauty
Everything comes to thy senses flood with curiosity
May such tales intrigue thee to infinity
The exotic flower with a delicate night-bloomed dress
Humming its fragrant voice to impress
Its stage resides at the Hill of Cypress
Shimmering with the moonlight like an empress
If this love was not love
Sea was not the sea, for every drop of moist bubbles into the distant sky
Mountains were not mountains, for they shall grow feathers as wings to fly
You, shall lock in the golden cage like the solemn captured dove
Speak thou shall not, summon the ancient spell of majesty
unslaved thy fragile humanity
mesh thyself into the summer wild
murmur untamed whispers like an innocent child
emit fierce flames of fire
Run with the innate summer desire
Let photos be the Lady’s Fountain of Youth
Omnipresence like the deity of truth
Vivid memories engrave in the mossy stone
entangles with circle of Time, Shall return with the first lightning of thunderstorm |
