A：This is the good life! We have it good don’t you think? 这就是美好的生活，我们已经拥有了，你不这么想吗？

B：Yeah of course! Although, don’t you ever wonder what “could have been”? 当然，但是，你想过原本可以的事吗？


A：What do you mean? 你是什么意思?


B：Well, sometimes I think of how things could have turned out if I had done things a little differently. 有时候我在想如果我做事不同，结果会是怎样?


A：For example? 比如说？


B：Like for example, if I hadn’t studied architecture, I would have become an artist like I wanted to. 比如说：如果我不学建筑，我可能会做一个艺术家。


A：I see. Yeah now that I think of it, I wouldn’t have gotten married if I hadn’t moved to this town and met Sally. 我明白了，要是那么说，如果我不搬到这个镇子，没遇到Sally,我可能就不会结婚。


B：You see! Everything happens for a reason! We wouldn’t even have met if I hadn’t been in that car accident ten years ago! 你看，每件事都是有来由的。如果十年前我没有发生交通事故，我们可能不会遇见对方。


A：Well, I have no regrets! 是啊，没有什么后悔的。


B：I’ll drink to that! 我同意！
