In addition, there are lots of things that employers can do very easily that might make your life better but they are not going to cost them anything. So for example, they maybe willing to do flextime to let you start later so that you can work better with your daycare arrangements for your children. It doesn't mean anything to them but it means the world to you in terms of how well the job goes for you. So you can absolutely expect to better the package by negotiating your salary, your compensation and your benefits.
