"Really!" I exclaimed, "has it been translated into German, then?"

“真的吗？”我惊讶地说， ”那么，已经翻译成德文了吗？“

"What! A translation?" he exclaimed. "why would I want to translation? This is the original book in the language spoken in Iceland, Icelandic, an amazing language. This is the original writing in the ancient characters of the alphabet used long ago in Iceland. Come here and admire these letters!"

Just as I went to him, an old piece  of writing fell out of the book. My uncle bent down and picked it up with eagernedd.

就在我朝他走过去时，一片旧纸从书中掉了下来。我叔叔急忙弯腰捡起。

“What's this?" he cried.

“这是什么呀？”他嚷道。

And he carefully unfolded the paper on the table to examine it. There were rows of signs that I could not understand. The professor examined the signs a few moments, then said, "These are ancient characters, exactly the same as the ones in Snorri Sturluson's book. But, what can they mean?"

他小心翼翼的在桌子上展开那片纸，认真研究起来。上面是一行行我看不懂的符号。教授将这些符号研究了一会儿，然后说，“这是一些古老的文字，和斯洛尔.图勒森书中的一模一样。但是，它们究竟是什么意思呢？”
