A judge in Spain has ordered the release of five Algerians who were arrested last week on suspicion of financing terrorist activities in North Africa. The judge said there was not enough evidence to keep the five in jail. He said government lawyers did not show that the suspects
sent large amounts of money to Algeria or that the people who received the money had links to terrorist activities. As part of his ruling, the
judge ordered the five men to stay in Spain and report to judicial officials twice a month.
