IRISH-born actor Pierce Brosnan, the current film incarnation of British superspy James Bond, will marry Keely Shaye Smith on August 4 in the west of Ireland.

　　

　　In 1987, Brosnan‘s wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer; she battled for four years before succumbing to the disease on December 28, 1991. After mourning the loss of his wife, and after a few ephemeral romances, Brosnan took up with reporter Keely Shaye Smith of the Today show. In January 1997, the couple welcomed their son. After making a show of disavowing any marriage plans, the couple announced their engagement in fall 1999

　　The couple have opted for a Roman Catholic church ceremony to be followed by a reception in Ashford Castle in County Mayo, one of the top 50 hotels in the world, newspaper reports said. Widower Brosnan, 49, twice postponed the wedding to Smith, 36, last year after his teenage son Sean suffered spinal injuries in a traffic accident.

　　

　　Brosnan, born in Navan, north of Dublin, is believed to have signed a six-figure contract with Hello magazine for exclusive pictures of the wedding, reports said.
