在日常生活中我们常常会碰到某些要表达自己希望或者愿望的场合，下面就介绍一些生活中的常用句型：
I hope our monitor is better.
当我们希望某人现状比较好或者身体好的话可以用这类句子，再比如：
I hope our monitor is all right now. 我希望班长已经一切正常。
Your family are quite well, I hope. 我希望你全家都好。
希望天气好也可以这样说，例如：
— Will it snow tomorrow? 明天会下雪吗？
— I hope not.我可不希望下雪。
We hope for an early spring. 我们希望春天早点儿来。
这类句子还可以表示“希望事情如愿”，例如：
In this I hope for your help.这件事我希望能得到你的帮助。
Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. 希望得到最好结果，准备应付最坏的情况。
2006年夏天全国出现旱情，我们就可以说：After the dry weather everyone hopes for rain. 旱季之后人人都希望降雨。
I hope to hear from you soon.
Hope to do something 意为“希望做某件事”，例如：
当与朋友见面时她情绪不太好时你可以说：I hope to find you in better spirits when we meet again. 我希望再次见面时你情绪好些。
当你要出远门，家人问你什么时候能回家而你又不确定时可以说：I hope to be back tomorrow night. 我希望明晚回来。
再比如：
I hope to have finished the work by now. 真希望现在工作已经结束了。
We can’t hope to win an easy victory. 我们不能指望轻易取胜。
—I hope very much to go to the exhibition. 我非常希望去参观展览会。
—So do I. 我也一样。
What is it you want me to do?
Want someone/something+to do的意思是“想要某人、某物做某事。如：
当你想和朋友一道去做什么事的时候，可以说 Don’t you want someone to go along with you? 难道你不想有人和你一道去？
当有不好的事情发生的时候，你要表示愤怒和希望，可以说I don’t want such a thing to happen again. 我不希望这种事再次发生。
也可以用来表示良好的愿望和祝福，如We wanted this meeting to be a successful one. 我们希望这次会议成功。
还可以用来提出自己的建议，如I want you to think it over before you make a decision. 我希望你做决定前仔细考虑一下。
I want you to see him without delay. 我希望你立即见他。
We don’t want you getting into trouble.
want 是最常用的表示自己想要做什么的词，Want someone doing something 意为“想要，希望，愿意某人（正在，不断）做某事”，如：I don’t want people playing the piano at all hours of the day and night! 我不希望人们日日夜夜都不停地弹钢琴。
当心情不好，不想听爸爸妈妈唠叨的时候你可以说：Who wants you thinking about me? 谁要你考虑我？
I wouldn’t want an old man like you interfering in my affairs. 我不愿意像你这样的老人干涉我的事务。
不过这些话可是很伤人的，所以尽量不要说哦！

Want something /someone意为“想要某物，想见某人”，也可用于被动结构，比如：
当你想得到朋友的意见或者某种承诺时可说
We want your opinion/promise.我们希望听到你的意见（得到你的承诺）。

If you ever want me, come to me for assistance. 如果你需要我，就来找我帮忙吧。
What on earth did you want with me? 你究竟想和我干什么？

Wish to do something 相当于want to do something或hope to do something意为“愿意，希望做某事”，这里用来表示自己的主观愿望，希望得到别人理解及支持，例如：But I wish to remain here.但我愿意留在这儿。
I do not wish to be disturbed in my work. 我工作时不愿受到打扰。
I wish once again to express our warmest welcome to you. 我愿意再次表示对你的诚挚欢迎。
I wish to speak to you. 我有话和你说。
I wish you to stay here.
Wish someone. to do something 相当于want someone to do something 或would like someone to do something，例如：
I wish you to stay here. 我希望你留在这儿。
I do wish my son to accept the post. 我确实希望我儿子接受这个职位。
They wished me to call on you. 他们希望我拜访你。
We don’t wish the subject to be raised again. 我们不希望这个问题再次被提出。
He longed to be back in England.
Long+to-v. 的意思是“渴望做某件事”。Long for+n./pron.的意思则是“渴望，迫切希望得到某物”，不要弄混哦，我们来看几个例子：
How I long for your opinion! 我多么渴望你的意见啊。
I longed to read my story to you. 我渴望把我的故事读给你听。
We longed to see her. 我们渴望见到她。
If only he could have understood the doctor’s words!
If only这个句型表示一种虚拟语气，就是一种未能实现的愿望，可以理解为“但愿……，要是……就好了”，比如：
表示一种希望的心情。
If only he had seen me! 但愿他那时看见了我！
If only he didn’t drive so fast. 他开车别那么快就好了。
If only he didn’t snore! 他要是不打鼾就好了。

当事与愿违的时候，也就是说自己希望的和事实想反的时候
If only you had kept quiet then. 你那时要是不说话多好。
